Dismantled Books

A set of pages bound together with the intent to educate and or entertain its reader becomes a visual exploration of text, imagery, and the objects in between. The title and overall quality of the book influences my initial selection and plays a role in the dismantling of its pages; resulting in an intricate and carefully constructed sculptural piece. Each book is unique, some display a more precise level of precision while others are more organic; portions of text removed while others have words and phrases unharmed by the blade of my knife. The inclusion of images and miniature objects within the books is intended to provide evidence of my personal experiences and open the door for curiosity.
